iPhone 17 Pro Max is Apple’s most powerful iPhone — and it deserves the right charger. Many Pakistani buyers ask whether the Apple 20W charger is sufficient for iPhone 17 Pro Max, or whether they should upgrade to the 40W. This guide gives you the honest answer with real charging data.
⚡ Quick Answer
The Apple 20W charger works with iPhone 17 Pro Max but is not the fastest option. It charges to 50% in approximately 38–40 minutes. The Apple 40W charger charges to 50% in approximately 23–25 minutes — saving 15 minutes per charge cycle. For iPhone 17 Pro Max users in Pakistan, the 40W is the recommended choice. Both available with COD at iSmart Hub.
iPhone 17 Pro Max Charging — 20W vs 40W Comparison
| Charger | 0–50% | 0–80% | 0–100% |
|---|---|---|---|
| Old 5W charger | ~120 min | ~200 min | ~240+ min |
| Apple 20W | ~38–40 min | ~75 min | ~110 min |
| Apple 40W | ~23–25 min | ~55 min | ~95 min |
The Apple 40W charges iPhone 17 Pro Max 15 minutes faster to 50% than the 20W. Over a year of daily charging, that’s approximately 90+ hours saved.
Why the 40W Is Better for iPhone 17 Pro Max in Pakistan
- Load-shedding efficiency: In cities like Lahore, Faisalabad, and Multan where power windows can be 30–45 minutes, the 40W charges significantly more battery than the 20W in the same time
- Pro Max battery is large: iPhone 17 Pro Max has a larger battery than standard models — it benefits more from higher wattage
- Daily time savings: 15 minutes per charge = 90+ hours per year — meaningful for busy professionals in Karachi and Islamabad
- Future-proofing: Future iPhones will likely accept even higher wattage — the 40W gives you headroom
When the Apple 20W Is Still a Good Choice for iPhone 17 Pro Max
- Budget constraint: The 20W costs Rs. 1,000–1,500 less than the 40W — if budget is tight, the 20W still fast-charges at 3x the speed of the old 5W
- Overnight charging: If you charge overnight, speed doesn’t matter — the 20W fully charges iPhone 17 Pro Max in ~110 minutes
- Secondary charger: As a travel or office backup charger, the 20W is perfectly adequate
